God was being very kind to us midwesterners when He made citrus season smack dab in the middle of winter. All of your favorite pithy fruits are currently dripping with deliciousness, so you better jump on that bandwagon before the season is over. There are a lot of great winter fruit salads recipes floating around out there, we took our cue from this one, modifying it slightly and combining pineapple, grapefruit, oranges, blood oranges and pomegranate seeds (by the way, I found this video explaining how to deseed a pomegranate without making your kitchen look like the scene of a mass murder very helpful). The salad was jewel-like and delicious and you should try it!
